Hi, I'm Mrs Kelley and I am very excited to be the new 2nd-grade teacher at SAUSD this year!

I was born and raised in small towns in Texas. Then when I was 14 my parents decided to move the family to Anchorage, Alaska where I froze for the next 5 years. I got to thaw out a bit when my husband, small son, and I moved to SO. California for 5 years. Then, we foolishly thought we missed Alaska so for the next two years we lived once again in the "Land of the Midnight sun". I remember the day very well when we decided Alaska life was really not for us. It was Mother's day 1985 and we woke up to fresh fallen snow, 6 inches of snow! I looked at my husband, he looked at me and we both said, "let's go back to California!" And we did!

Back in California, I began really working on my teaching degree.  I attended Chaffey Community College, received my A.A., and then transferred to Cal Poly Pomona, where I got my B.A. in 2005. I was so lucky my husband and kids were at my graduation and my kids got to see how hard work pays off. I returned to Cal Poly to get my teaching Credential and in 2007 I had my Preliminary credentials and set out to challenge the minds of the students who hated Math.

I began teaching in 2007 as a substitute teacher in Southern California.   Since then I've worked in Greenfield, Adelanto,  Alpaugh, and King City as a 7th and 8th grade Math teacher. I also taught in a self-contained classroom for 2 years in Alpaugh.

Wanting to challenge, and open myself to new experiences, I came to SAUSD and I am looking forward to a great year ahead.

When I'm not working I am usually at my sewing machine or crocheting. I love crafts and learning new ones. I also like to spend time with my husband of 45 years, my son and his wife, and my daughter.

I know we're going to have an awesome year this year and I am looking forward to the first day of school.
