Heather Robbins

Welcome Middle School Students and Families!

My name is Heather Robbins and I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade English Language Arts, as well as 8th Grade Social Studies, at San Antonio. This is my third year at San Antonio Elementary and I love the community and small setting of our school!

This is my 9th year of teaching English. Before San Antonio, I taught both middle and high school English in coastal North Carolina. I attended the University of North Carolina- Wilmington and graduated with my Bachelor's in Secondary English Education. During my time at UNCW, I studied abroad in Australia, taking literature and education courses in a rural town in New South Wales, about 2 hours from Sydney. I also received a fellowship through UNCW's English Department to travel to Paris to study Ernest Hemingway's writing. I enjoy sharing my traveling stories with students!

In my free time I enjoy cooking, reading, traveling, hiking, and gardening! As a teacher, I really enjoy getting to know my students and their interests, helping them to feel more confident as readers, writers, speakers, and life-long learners. After teaching high school English, it made me realize how much I want to prepare my middle school students so that they feel ready for high school with all of the skills they need to succeed!
